Committees and their Duties

Thank you for considering being on one of our committees!  While many duties are in person kind of tasks, there are also many others which could easily be done remotely, and others that may only require your presence on the day(s) of the event.  We hope that you can find something that will interest you and fit your very busy schedule!

Education Committee

The education committee is responsible for:

  • creating educational content for various age groups for our events, social media, website, etc. 

  • obtaining speakers/demonstrators

Communications Committee

The communications committee is responsible for:

  • press releases

  • advertising

  • website maintenance

  • social media posts

  • packets/pamphlets, etc. 

  • greeting card communications

  • man the information table/selling any merchandise/making announcements at the events.

Fundraising Committee

The fundraising committee is responsible for:

  • obtaining sponsorships

  • creating & developing fundraising ideas

Vendor Coordination Committee

The vendor coordination committee is responsible for:

  • obtaining a variety of vendors

  • vendor follow-up and reminders

  • vendor check in & placement at the site

Volunteer Coordination Committee

The volunteer coordination committee is responsible for:

  • obtaining volunteers

  • determine the jobs needed

  • scheduling

  • reminding volunteers, checking them in, and informing them of their job

Entertainment Committee

The entertainment committee will:

  • develop and secure entertainment that is not educational in nature (ie: music, games, children’s activities, displays, tournaments, contests, etc. 

Logistics Committee

The logistics committee will:

  • design the layout of the facility for the vendors, speakers, displays, activities, etc.

  • obtain any necessary equipment (ie: tables, chairs, public address systems, lighting, etc.) 

  • prepare and place signs

  • creating a map of the event to be handed to guests. 

  • if needed, work with local law enforcement, city, and chamber officials to coordinate parking, entrances, safety issues, regulations, security needs, etc. 

  • assist with set up and tear down.
